Kayla Rose is a creative sociologist and photographer based in Louisiana. I still wake up with things to tell you is a photographic series exploring the conversations we continue having with the people we love after they're gone. Created after the loss of her father and the birth of her son on the same day, the work moves between portraiture, still life, and reconstructed family moments to examine memory, fatherhood, grief, and the emotional residue what remains.
