Celebrate Black History Month at the Opening of Compton Art & History Museum

Color Compton is excited to announce the opening of the Compton Art & History Museum! The opening exhibit will be, "Sons like me" by Anthony Lee Pittman. Pittman, a local artist from Compton, California, focuses on traditional painting, floral design, and mural art. Anthony reflects on his lived experiences growing up in Compton as a queer Afro-Latino. The title of the show is an excerpt from Essex Hemphill’s poem “In the Life” which was featured in Tongues Untied, a film by Marlon Riggs.

Color Compton is a non-profit organization that works with and supports Compton youth to build a community among people of color through history and art.
