Hosted by actress and entrepreneur Sasha Pieterse, the LA Art Show evening blended contemporary art with purpose, benefiting the American Heart Association, the show’s 2026 charity partner. Fifteen percent of all ticket proceeds support the Life is Why™ campaign, reinforcing the event’s commitment to health, longevity, and community impact.

Among the most compelling works was an interactive biometric installation by Yoon Chung Han, inviting participants to scan their veins and generate road like pathways based on their unique vascular patterns. The work draws parallels between circulatory systems and urban infrastructure, examining shared ideas of connectivity, flow, and direction. Participants can export their data as personalized three dimensional printed sculptures, transforming biometric information into a tactile object that exists as both artwork and memory.

The exhibition also highlighted community driven practices through a participatory installation by Eugenia Vargas Pereira, presented as part of DIVERSEartLA. Pereira’s ongoing exploration of rivers as living systems centered on the Los Angeles River, inviting volunteers to take part in a ritual centered on water, image making, and presence. Participants took selfies that were placed into photographic developing trays, where the images slowly emerged and faded. This fleeting process mirrored the fragile relationship between humans and the natural world. Each participant became a visual narrator, witnessing environmental flow while reflecting on the interdependence between people and nature. The work embraced impermanence, reminding viewers that ecological care is not a single action but an ongoing responsibility.

LA Art Show 2026 runs through Sunday, January eleven, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Advanced tickets are available at laartshow.com, allowing guests to bypass lines and move directly into the exhibition experience.
