Tichina Arnold Signs Exclusive Deal With CBS Studios After Two Decades With the Network

After more than twenty years of working alongside CBS, actress and producer Tichina Arnold is stepping into a new chapter. The television veteran has officially signed an exclusive development deal with CBS Studios through her production company, Queen Light Productions, marking a significant expansion of her work behind the camera.

Arnold has been a familiar face on television for decades. Many audiences first connected with her through the 90s sitcom Martin, where her sharp comedic timing and unforgettable delivery made her one of the show’s standout characters. She later brought heart and humor to the role of Rochelle on Everybody Hates Chris, and in recent years has continued to connect with audiences through her role as Tina Butler on the CBS series The Neighborhood.

This new partnership signals a shift toward a larger creative role. Under the deal, Arnold will develop and produce new television projects for CBS Studios through Queen Light Productions, allowing her to shape stories from the ground up rather than solely appearing in front of the camera. The agreement also reflects the long relationship Arnold has built with the network. Few actors maintain such consistent ties with a studio over multiple decades, and the deal highlights the level of trust CBS has in her creative voice and storytelling instincts.

Arnold has already teased that she is developing several projects, though she is intentionally keeping the details quiet for now. “I have a few projects that I’m working on,” Arnold shared. “One project I’m not going to say because the last time I said it, it happened, but it didn’t happen with me, so I’m not going to put it out there yet. But it’s a project about a very prominent woman and singer who had a very interesting life. So I’m going to revisit that, but will leave you on a cliffhanger until I can share more.”

For Arnold, the move into development and production feels like a natural progression. After years of bringing beloved characters to life, she now has the opportunity to help guide the stories themselves. With Queen Light Productions now working directly alongside CBS Studios, Arnold is positioned not only as a performer audiences love, but as a creative force helping shape what comes next in television.

And if her mysterious upcoming project is any indication, the next chapter of her career may place her at the center of telling stories that have long deserved a spotlight.
