Last night, the steps of the Met transformed into a living archive.

With the 2025 Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the night was more than fashion—it was a tribute to the elegance, resistance, and radical creativity embedded in Black style. For the first time, the entire event centered the Black diaspora’s influence on fashion, from the roots of dandyism to the experimental tailoring shaping the culture today.
Curated by scholar Monica L. Miller, the theme honored Black menswear as both performance and power. Dandies, rebels, legends, and lovers of luxury showed up to mark this moment in history. The exhibit, the music, the floral installations, the energy—it all pulsed with intention.
And while many brought their A-game, only a few truly understood the assignment.
Here’s ColorBloc’s official 2025 Met Gala Best Dressed List—an ode to those who wore the theme like skin:
Rihanna in Marc Jacobs
Teyana Taylor in Marc Jacobs
Tramell Tillman in Thom Browne
Jodie Turner-Smith in Burberry
Zendaya in Louis Vuitton
Keith Powers in Boss
Lewis Hamilton in Grace Wales Bonner
Janelle Monáe in Thom Browne

Each look was a reminder: style isn’t just about what you wear—it’s about what you carry. Legacy. Intention. Presence.
And if last night proved anything, it’s that Black style isn’t a trend—it’s the foundation.
