Today, rising singer IDMAN releases the official video for her single, “Down For It” and announces her new record deal with Arista Records in partnership with Golly Geng!
Behind every great artist is a team of people that are there to guide and uplift. For IDMAN, It’s her collective Golly Geng, who are all also featured in the “Down For It” visual. Watch as IDMAN stands confidently in her purpose with her team right behind her. When asked about the single, IDMAN stated, “We can see through the things we want for ourselves. And we don’t have to move through those things alone. Misery need not meet us at the end of every day. We are worthy and deserving of happy endings. Those happy endings that bring all that we imagined colorfully, lend to our belief and hope in that which we have not yet imagined. Take the risk. What’s it worth to you?”
The beautifully shot visual was directed by Sabaah Folayan as well as produced by Ade Macalinao and Anastasia Solovieva in collaboration with Golly Geng. “Down For It” is the official first single from her forthcoming debut EP entitled Risk set to release this fall via Arista Records. The mid-tempo single delves into the topics of doubt and the power of positive affirmations. Since its initial release, late last year, the single has already received over 1 million streams as well as early acclaim/support from Paper, Spotify, Apple Music, Complex Canada, and RnBass to name a few!
Raised in Toronto, Canada, IDMAN’s sound is a melting pot of genres with soul-stirring lyrics that connect to the deepest parts of listeners. Mentored by the iconic and GRAMMY-nominated producer, Salaam Remi, she is musically inspired by everyone from Jazmine Sullivan and Solange to Amy Winehouse and Janelle Monáe. Deciding to pursue her music aspirations while attending college in Portland, ME, IDMAN uses her unique experiences that include brushes with the law, systemic inequality, universal love, and her own insecurities to craft her musical story.

An independent record label and multi-media group centered on friendship and aligned values in the creation of artful experiences through a variety of mediums.
