“Fancy” is the first in an installment of new music and content that BJ The Chicago Kid will release as part of his “BJ Wednesdays” series, where the critically-acclaimed singer will provide his fans with a musical gift to help with their hump day blues. When asked about why he chose to cover the iconic fan favorite single from The-Dream’s sophomore album, BJ had the following to say: “Obviously, ‘Fancy’ is one of my favorite songs from The-Dream and in my opinion, definitely one of the dopest, dare I say top 10 R&B songs to come out from our generation of music. Overall, I’m just excited to share this new era of music and of me with the world. Quarantine has given me time to discover new levels of emotions that I can’t wait for my fans to experience sonically.”
2021 has been a great year for the R&B sensation that has seen him collaborate with the likes of Chika, PJ Morton and even featured on the soundtrack for the Academy Award winning film, Judas And The Black Messiah. Most recently, BJ released a track entitled “The Chi”, which was featured on the Showtime original series, The Chi created by Lena Waithe.
